You are a rally driver. You set a time. The internet does the rest.

MAN, THIS DOING NUMBERS is a tiny, extremely fast arcade rally game where every run is edited live while you drive. Your stage becomes a YouTube clip, a VHS tape, a Twitch stream, a TV broadcast or a vertical short, sometimes all within ten seconds. Cameras cut on their own. Captions scream at you. The music cuts out right before you land the jump. Parts fall off your car and get a caption of their own.

When you finish, the video gets 14 views.

What's in the beta

3 stages

• KOIVUMÄKI FOREST (SS3): 2.4 km of Finnish-ish gravel, a hairpin and a big jump.
• PASSO DEL RIMPIANTO (SS7): a snowed-in cliff road with a sheer drop, an avalanche gallery and guardrails with a couple of gaps in them. Don't find them.
• PARIS–DAKAR (APPROX.) (SS∞): starts at the Eiffel Tower (in the desert), slaloms through camels and finishes in Dakar, 680 m from Paris.

5 cars, from Dad's Estate to The Content Machine. Every car has a HYPE stat. The more hype, the harder the internet edits you: faster cuts, more chaos and more views.

World events: police chases, meteor showers, a UFO that takes your car and gives you a cow back, sandstorms, and mid-roll ad breaks with a "Skip ad in 5" button.

Also: satirical sponsors on every billboard, parts that come off while the car keeps driving, and a 174 BPM soundtrack that knows when to shut up. All models, sounds and music are original.

This is a beta

It's a vertical slice. Things may break, and the balance is vibes-based. Feedback is very welcome in the comments: bugs, crashes, "this camera made me sick" and "this caption made me laugh" all help.

System requirements: Windows 10/11 64-bit with a GPU that supports Vulkan (most cards from the last ~8 years). The game renders at a deliberately crunchy 360p, so it runs on modest hardware.
